What We Do: Showcasing Skills and Opportunities

Under the name “Young Master,” vocational skills competitions have been held since 2009. The competitions take place in various formats and occur year-round across Estonia.

TV show "Young master"

The TV show Young Master has been entertaining viewers for fife seasons. The competition show showcases the best young students from vocational schools across Estonia!

In the fifth season, seven vocational fields were featured on screen: florists, CNC metal-cutting machine operators, auto painters, hairdressers, tilers, furniture carpenters, and forwarder operators. Musician Andrei Zevakin was hosting the show, with a surprise guest appearing in each competition.

The primary target audience of Young Master is general education school students, but the show also caters to parents who influence and shape their children’s educational paths. The aim of the show is to promote vocational education, introduce different professions, and showcase study conditions to young people. We hope to inspire more young individuals to pursue vocational training and find a profession that suits their interests.

The show is in Estonian, but you can take a look at it on our YouTube channel.

Skills Festival “Young Master”

The competitions were initially part of the Teeviit information fair starting in 2009. From 2013 onward, Young Master became a standalone festival, where, in addition to vocational skills competitions, opportunities to study at vocational schools were showcased. Participants could test their skills in exciting workshops run by vocational schools and companies.

Since 2018, the major event was held under the name Skills Festival. The festival features vocational skills competitions in approximately 20 fields. Every year, the event attracted around 6,000 young people from all over Estonia!

After several years (due Covid), the Skills Festival “Young Master” was held once again on May 13–15, 2024. It was a great honor to host the President at the festival.

Individual Competitions “Young Master”

Alongside the fourth season of the TV show, individual competitions are held year-round in vocational schools across Estonia.
